10.31.05 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN. AAS/BOTS/FOTW. TOTP.

Happy Halloween to all you Green Dayians! Make sure you eat lots of candy until your sick to your stomach and don't cause TOO much mischief! ;) Five news songs are up for adoption -- be quick if you want to adopt one! Sad to say it, but all this Halloween hype has made Holly and I lazy (good excuse ;), we will be posting a new FOTW and update S:BOTS tomorrow - I swear! OK-OK... Here's some Green Day news on Halloween! *Cackle* (Yes, I know - I'm a dork!) Green Day will be playing the longest performance EVER on The Tops of the Pops which will be airing on Novermber 6th. They will be performing, none other than, "Jesus of Suburbia." Following the performance, Green Day will continue to play for fans off air. The "JOS" single itself is set for release on November 14. In tragic news (added drama!), "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is falling off the Billboard Charts as October is ending - the song is now #9. It's a pity that such an amazing song never made it to #1! "Jesus of Suburbia" will do amazing- no doubt! Well, that's about it for today! Go do your Halloween Business, people!!! 0,..,0

10.30.05 - VH1 Awards. Rolling Stone. TRL. Site News.

Green Day is nominated for two awards for VH1's Big In '05 show.  They are up for Big Music Artist and BOBD is for Big Download.  Go to vh1.com now to cast your vote!  Billie Joe will be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazing coming out November 4th.  The 12 minute version of the JOS video will premiere tomorrow on iFilm.  Also Green Day will perform on TRL November 10th.

The release of the newsletter has been postponed till next weekend, sorry! and we will post Adopt a Song, Battle of the Songs, and Fan of the Week tomorrow.  Kevin and I have just been so busy, Kevin with school, and me applying to college (eek!).  We promise to get everything back together this week.  Just keep checking back.  If you're interested in helping us out (particularly if you're good at Macromedia Flash), email us!

10.23.05 - Survivor. Adopt A Song. Newsletter. St Jimmy. BIAB. EMAs.

Hey people! I have quite a bit of news for you all today! The results for week one of the Survivor: BOTS are in and... *drum roll please* "Warning" and "Green Day" have been eliminated with the least amount of votes. "Jesus of Suburbia" took a strong lead with over half the votes and "Hitchin' A Ride" was a close second! Eighteen songs are left - so go vote now! Five songs were put up for adoption this morning (all are taken - sorry!) You may have noticed that we remodeled the Adopt A Song (AAS) page. Please do not try to adopt songs that are taken/ not on the list!!! We will be posting a newsletter next weekend (The Tight Wad Hill Times) for you all to view. You will be allowed to subscribe to get an issue of the newsletter each month for free! Newsletter members will get great stuff such as MP3s (we will not be posting MP3s on the site -- only on the newsletter so SUBSCRIBE!! :) MTV2 will be airing a live "St. Jimmy" video on Tuesday, October 25th (like the "Welcome to Paradise" video). 10.17.05 - Bullet in a Bible intheaters.  MTV.com JOS air.

Bullet in a Bible will premiere in theaters one day only, November 1st.  Tickets on sale October 22nd.  More info here.  Also, MTV.com will debut the JOS video October 25th.

Please stop trying to Adopt a Song, all songs for this week are taken.

10.16.05 - Survivor : BOTS. Adopt A Song. Blitzkreig Bop.

Hey people! 1039SC now has a new competition of which Green Day songs battle it out to be the last song standing. The competition is called Survivor: B.O.T.S. (Battle of the Songs) in which your job is to vote for your favorite song each week. The 2 songs at the end of each week will be eliminated. Click here for more info / to vote! There are 5 new songs up for adoption so be quick and claim a song! I have created an unofficial video from Green Day's cover of "Blitzkreig Bop." 10.13.05 - AOL Concert.  GD on FUSE.  JOS Video.  New album?

Check out AOL Music to see the Green Day concert from L.A.! The entire concert, its the best so don't miss it! And remember if you wish to work (or volunteer? since you won't get paid) for 1039 Sweet Children, APPLY!!! And on FUSE there as been A LOT of Green Day shows! So check them out, cause from what I've heard, they have been pretty awesome and I checked and for the rest of this week and next week, FUSE is full of Green Day EVERYDAY! The JOS video will premire in the UK tomorrow! Channel: 4. Check MTV.com for more info. AND on the radio I heard that the guys of Green Day are slowly putting together a new record! Sources say that they are "taking there time and have all the ideas together". :) No release date or title for the album but it WILL be released sometime next summer/fall. Where Green Day will be NEXT: Concert in Nashville, TX at the Gaylord Entertainment Center on October 16th. 10.09.05 - "Jesus of Suburbia" Promo. FOTW. "Bullet in a Bible"

I was browsing through E-Bay when I saw a "Jesus of Suburbia" promo single link. The (promo) single has 2 tracks. The first one being the album version and the second one being the radio edit. The radio edit is 6:30. Speaking of JOS, UK will be getting the premiere Friday, October 14th, on Channel 4 at 10:30PM. We will do our best to get the video up for your viewing pleasure. I'm sure this video is going to just as good (if not better!) as the other amazing "American Idiot" videos. In other news, we chose a new FAN OF THE WEEK yesterday! Congratulations to Tyler! This is old news but Green Day's live in Milton Keynes DVD ("Bullet in a Bible") will be released on November 15th. It will be premiered, however, on select theaters in the USA on November 1st (check your local times!) If it is not being played around you, don't fret! On November 12th, MTV2 will be airing a one hour preview of the "Bullet In A Bible" DVD, it starts at 1PM EST. MTV will also be airing a half hour clip of the DVD on that same day (we will let you know about the exact time when we find out!) That's all the news for today! =D

10.02.05 - Guestbook. New Poll. Europe MTV Awards

Some fuckin' asshole went and hacked our guestbook. They must think it makes them look "cool" and "tough" or something. If you ask me, they are an idiot with no life. For now, we don't have a guestbook due to this moron. We have a new poll - What is your favorite Green Day album? Go vote for your favorite on the bottom right column. You all can now go vote for Green Day for the Europe MTV Awards. Green Day are nominated for "Best Album", "Best Rock", and "Best Group." Alrighty, that's it for today!

10.01.05 - New Host.  Spin.  Adeline Clothing. Kerrang. LFDF! Live AOL.  Modern Guitars.

We have finally gotten the domain name http:1039sweetchildren.net.  No cjb to remember or twinholly if you used that!  So, affiliates, please change your links.  The site will still work from cjb.net and we're working on twinholly.net/1039sweetchildren.  So if you didn't understand any of that, don't worry, here's the Green Day news.  Billie Joe is on the cover of Spin Magazine with other artists.  There's an interview, poster, and a bit about Wake Me Up.  Billie Joe and Adrienne have decided to create their own Adeline Clothing company, named after the record label.  Kerrang! magazine has a page "The World According to Armstrong."  Finally, some information on Live Freaky Die Freaky!  Green Day is going to perform a live concert for AOL on October 11th, more here.  Also, here's an interview with Billie Joe from Modern Guitars magazine.  Phew, I think that's it.  Tell us what you think about the new name and host, etc.  Sorry about the ads, but for now, that's the way it has to be.  Unless you want to give us some money.  ;)
