07.27.05 - New Album. REAL "Jesus of Suburbia" Music Video.
Remember how we reported that Green Day will be releasing a new album sometime next summer? Well, chances are that that IS indeed true! On an interview Billie Joe did for Billboard.com, he stated, "I'd love to play Russia and Cuba -- places rock shows don't normally go," then he said, "After that, we'll end up sitting around and chatting about what is going to be the next album." Apparently they already have "about 15 new songs" ready for a CD release. "Right now, it's that no-pressure/fun stage of just getting on a four-track and coming up with some goofy stuff," he says. "Eventually, something sort of unfolds. It's exciting. The juices are always flowing." Just in case that isn't good news enough, you remember that live video of Jesus of Suburbia that IFC put off as a "music video?" Well, Green Day will be releasing a REAL music video for the song with the director, you guessed it, Samuel Bayer! Green Day is getting closer to creating a short film for the epic song "Jesus Of Suburbia." Billie Joe told MTV.com, "We're going to be making a video for the whole thing. We're working with Sam again, and we're throwing ideas around. If anything, it might be a prequel to what some people would consider a movie. We'll see what happens. Basically it's just another risk worth taking — we've had a whole year of that now, and it's great. Right now I feel like this is the band that I've always wanted to be in — musically, stylistically, all of it." I can only imagine how awesome this REAL music video is gonna be! 07.27.05 - Green Dayz. New FOTW.
Europe's Green Day tribute band has been busy filming a promo video to send to venues and agents. The video will be able to download from www.greendayz.com in a few weeks. Also, we have a new Fan of the Week, Conor!
07.25.05 - VMA Nominations. Billie Joe Calls TRL.
Green Day are the top nominees for this years'
Video Music Awards on MTV. They got eight
nods, six of those being for the Boulevard of Broken Dreams video! Those six
include video of the year, best group video, best rock video, best direction in
a video, best editing in a video, and best cinematography in a video. The
American Idiot video is up for the Viewers Choice Award and best art direction
in a video. Green Day will also be performing at the show! I have a good feeling
that Green Day will be winning most (if not all) of those awards! Billie Joe
called into TRL from California today. He is out there relaxing and going to the
beach. He was very excited about all the nominations Green Day got and thanked
MTV many times. The guys had just found out about the nominations when he called
in and were VERY excited about it. Damien (one of the hosts) and Billie got into
a short conversation about what Tre' might do in celebration. Billie thought he
might suck something through a straw... haha... Then Damien brought up that
Green Day won the poll, Get the Gig last week which meant people most wanted to
see Green Day perform live on the TRL stage. When asked what they have to do to
get they to play, Billie said, "Maybe a big salami." We should probably be
expecting a performance on TRL as Billie said that he would love to and that
maybe sometime in the fall they will perform! Woo! I am very psyched about all
of the nominations Green Days' videos got : they really deserve it! :)

07.24.05 - Discography. Send in VAs. Store.
Hey everyone! Holly and I are very sorry about the lack of updates this week! We will be getting back on task with everything this week. I added the new discography page yesterday... If there are any problems/ things I missed, please email us and let us know! Please make sure you send in your Viewer Advisory responses this week -- new question on Friday! We only have two responses so far, so send the responses it! 07.18.05 - Holly's back! News. Videos.
I am back! Kevin did a really good job with the site while I was gone. I can't thank him enough... he really is the best coweb ever. Onto the news: Green Day is up against Simple Plan for MTV's Viewer Choice. "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is premiering in Canada and the US today on MuchMusic during the show of M.O.D at 5:00 PM. Also, there's a problem with some of the videos, so we're going to try and fix that as soon as possible. If you haven't already, be sure to check out all of the new things Kevin has added.
UPDATE by Kevin : Green Day beat Simple Plan and are now one of the official Viewers' Choice Award Nominees! When voting time comes, let's make sure they win the moon man! :) We have also lowered our prices on most of the objects (and added some) in the site store, so PLEASE buy something! 07.14.05 - Fan of the Week. Music Videos.
We've got a new Fan of the Week, ladies and gentlemen! Put your hands together for Laura! Congratulations Laura and thank you to everyone who sent in applications this week! :) Magz has only begun the job and is already working VERY hard! She is working on adding all the music videos and tons of other videos... you can already check out some of the music videos. Alrighty, Green Day news time! The "Wake Me Up When September Ends" video will be premiering in Canada and the US (if you have satellite for the US)... It will be on Muchmusic during the show of M.O.D at 5:00pm on this coming Monday, the 18th! So check it out if you can and haven't seen the video yet! Still no official release date for the United States (all over)... Hopefully very soon! I think that's about all the news... So bye for now! Keep checking the videos!

1039SC is one of the first Green Day sites to have the new Jesus of Suburbia video! Go check it out at the video section! I hope you all enjoy it, although it is a lot less than what I expected it to be. It is an uncut live performance, not quite what I call a music video, but it is very cool! Rumor has it that Green Day will be releasing a new album sometime next summer (2006)... The album title is still to be announced. I don't know how reliable this is, but here is where the info is found (Pause and Play Upcoming List)- scroll down to find Green Day! Finally, I have finished making the new Videography section, or video information! :) So yeah - enjoy the Jesus of Suburbia video and everything!
07.09.05 - Photo Gallery. "Jesus of Suburbia" Video.
I am VERY sorry for not posting the Photo Gallery last night! I got wound up and couldn't finish up - again, I'm very sorry! Now - I am happy to open the brand new PHOTO GALLERY! I hope you all enjoy the layout and the hundreds of pictures! More pics are on the way and some things are a little messy and will be fixed :)! If you see any problems: send us an email here! Leave some comments about the photo gallery! Anyway, IFC (Independent Film Channel) will be premiering the full, uncensored music video for "Jesus of Suburbia" as park of PUNK month! The video will air at 11:30 PM (Est. Time) if you have IFC! If not, don't worry! We will try to have the video up by tomorrow night! We have our seventh fan of the week today! Congratulations to Anna! Keep on sending in those applications! We got a lot of great ones this week! :) I am sorry to say that the opening of the photo gallery is going to have to be delayed once again... I PROMISE it will be done by Friday night! I didn't realize how many pictures of Green Day there actually are! It is also very tough working on it alone - but I am almost done! Heylo all you loyal Green Day minions - haha (OK - I know, not funny ;) )! Us here at 1039 Sweet Children would like to wish everyone a HAPPY 4th OF JULY! Happy Birthday, America! Make sure you all go out and have a good time today! :) We would also like to congratulate our affiliate, Green Day Authority on their four year anniversary! I am currently working on the photo gallery and things are going a little slower than I expected. It looks like the photo gallery will be done on Wednesday, but I think you all will really like it! 07.02.05 - Billie and Adrienne. FOTW. Viewer Advisory. Live 8. Site Updates.
Happy 11th anniversary to Adrienne and Billie Joe! We wish them the best of luck and many more years of togetherness! :) On Wednesday, I chose a new Fan of the Week! Congratulations to Sam and to everyone else : don't give up if your application doesn't get accepted the first time. We have been getting A LOT of applications, so keep sending yours' in! We have a new Viewer Advisory question, so make sure you go and answer it! We didn't get too many answers for the last question, so please answer this one! Green Day will be performing in Berlin for the Live 8 concert against global poverty. The concert will air on MTV and VH1 starting at 12PM (Noon EST. time.) Hopefully they will show Green Day... There are a lot of performances and appearances in other parts of the world, so Green Day may not be shown... I really hope they are, though! Yeah, the Live 8 concert airs all day today on MTV and VH1. I updated the Factoids page with a lot more facts and made a brand new Quotes page, so check them out! :) Over the weekend, (Today - Monday) I will be working on a new photo gallery with a cool new layout, more pictures, and a more organized layout... I'm not going to tell you too much about it so it can be a surprise when you see it HOPEFULLY on Monday! If it is not done on Monday, however, it will definitely be done by Wednesday. Live 8 Update: Green Day's performance of "American Idiot" was just played (12:40pm EST) on MTV and VH1... As expected, they rocked it! It was an awesome performance and pushed the Berlin audience into a mosh pit and everything! Mike's hair was also died brown (which looked really cool.) Great performance by the guys! If you missed it, we will try to get the video up sometime! OK - that's the update! Bye! :-D
