12.26.05 - Layout Update.  LFDF Song.

Okay, believe it or not, the new layout is on its way.  We will have it up hopefully tomorrow, if not, definitely Wednesday.  We just wanted everything to be perfect, that's why we've delayed it a bit.  Amazon has featured some songs Billie Joe has recorded for Live Freaky Die Freaky.  Check out the exclusive video clip of Billie Joe recording the song "Mechanical Man" for Live Freaky! 12.10.05 - Grammy's.  Vote Awards.

Green Day is nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".  As the end of 2005 approaches, end of year awards begin.  Green Day is nominated for several, many of which require fan votes. 

The People's Choice Awards will air at 10PM EST on 1/10/06 on CBS.  Best Group and Best Tour.  Virgin.net Music Awards Best Band and Best Video - Jesus of Suburbia.  The Radio Music Award will air 12/19/05 on NBC: Song of the Year - BOBD.  MuchMusic's Top 50: Green Day is nominated for four music videos. 12.09.05 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRé!!! Awards. Site Updates.

- Happy Birthday to the greatest (and coolest) drummer... ever! Tré celebrates his 33rd birthday today. Make sure you celebrate in honor of his birthday! :)

- Green Day did a kickass performance of "Holiday" and won eight Billboard Music Awards! Billie Joe also gave a wonderful speech when he presented Tom Petty with the Century Award.

Here's what they won:
• Billboard 200 Album Group of the Year: Green Day
• Pop Group of the Year: Green Day
• Hot 100 Group of the Year: Green Day
• Rock Artist of the Year: Green Day
• Rock Song of the Year: Boulevard of Broken Dreams," Green Day (Reprise)
• Modern Rock Artist of the Year: Green Day

They also won two more awards that weren't shown on the show:
• Adult Top 40 Singles & Tracks -- Green Day “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”
• Catalog Artist – Green Day

 

Green Day have also been nominated for the 'Record of the Year' Grammy Awards. The award show will be held on February 8th in  Los Angeles.

- Five new songs are up for adoption: "Dominated Love Slave," "All By Myself," (Yes, those are to celebrate Tré's birthday!) "Walking Contradiction," "One of My Lies." and "Panic Song"... A new fan of the week will be chosen tomorrow - send in last minute applications... Some big site changes will take place sometime soon, so be ready for something new.. or maybe old. ;)

12.07.05 - On TV.  Live Freaky Die Freaky. MP3's.

Green Day is going to be on TV a lot in the upcoming days.  MTV2 will air the 2005 MTV Music Awards on 12/9 at 4PM, Fuse will air Comp'd Green Day tomorrow at 7 and 11PM and Bullet in a Bible excerpts on 12/10 at 2PM.  That list is definitely not limited, for other shows and show times, click here.  Also, Live Freaky Die Freaky will be released January 31st.  For those of you who don't know, LFDF is an animated film featuring voices from members of Green Day and other bands.  You can preorder the dvd at Amazon.com.  I had to take down the MP3's again, because we will never be able to legally post them on this site.  We hope to put them in the newsletter when we get that out.

12.06.05 - MP3s. GD Win (Again!). Billboard Awards. Site Updates.

- OK. OK. I most of you are pissed that Holly and I haven't updated in a while, but we have just been so busy! We are sorry for not updating, but work has just seemed to have piled up on us all at once... Things seem to be slowing down now, so we will be on top of things again!

- Well, this news is no surprise, but Green Day have won some more awards to add to their collection! Congratulations to Green Day for winning the Big Music Artist award on VH1's Big in '05 Awards and for winning the XM Nation Award for Rock Artist Of The Year (they won by over 50%)! Green Day still got it, that's for sure! :) Speaking of awards, Green Day will be all over the Billboard Awards tonight! They are performing, up for six awards, and Billie Joe will be presenting the 'Century Award' to Tom Petty!

- A new fan of the week has been chosen - congratulation to Marya! Two more songs were eliminated on Survivor: BOTS on Saturday - good bye to "409 In Your Coffeemaker" and "Ha Ha You're Dead." Only two more weeks of the competition remain with only five songs still up in the running! Make sure you vote for your favorite NOW! The next elimination will be on Saturday! Five songs are now up for adoption - "The Grouch," "Sweet Children," "Blue Moon of Kentucky (Live)," "I Want To Be On TV," and "Words I Might Have Ate." Be quick and claim your song! :)

12.02.05 - 1039/Sweet Covers. Survivor: BOTS. Billboard.

- Hey everyone! Want to be on the first ever 1039 Sweet Children CD? Holly and I are planning a compilation of fan covers of Green Day songs that YOU send in! The compilation is currently titled "1,039/Sweet Covers." The CDs will be sold for (probably) $5 each. 100% of the profit will go to 1039 Sweet Children funds which will cover contest prizes as well as giveaways, etc.. If you would like your Green Day cover(s) on the CD, please email us at SerenityHT@aol.com. Send us the song, the Green Day title, your band name, and where your band is from. Best covers will be put on the CD, we will let you know! :)

- Survivor: BOTS was updated last Saturday, but we forgot to mention it in the updates! "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Minority" were eliminated... Vote now - elimination is tomorrow! We also have three new wallpapers, check them out! New Fan of the Week will be chosen tomorrow - send in those last minute applications!

- Green Day have been nominated for six Billboard Music Awards:

The guys will also be performing at the award show! The awards take place on December 6 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas! Green Day have also been nominated for Virgin.net's '05 Music Awards for Best Band and Best Video - "Jesus of Suburbia". Click here to vote!

- "Jesus of Suburbia" debuted at #37 on the Billboard Singles Chart. "Bullet In A Bible" fell from #8 to #37 on the billboard top 200 albums, however, "American Idiot" shot up 14 spots from #29 to #16!
