AMERICAN IDIOT TOUR: Peoria Civic Center, Peoria, IL (May 10, 2005)

OK, I went to the may 10th concert in Peoria and it was awesome!!!!I I was mad that I missed the first few songs from MCR...which is a *GREAT* band but I got over it because green day was the real show!! But it was great to see MCR.

After MCR's equipment was cleaned up and they pulled up the curtain to reveal GD's stuff, the pink bunny came out. As always he drinks 2 beers as he’s stumbling around the stage. I'm pretty sure it was Gerald the lead singer of My chemical romance because while they were playing I noticed Gerald’s shoes, they were black with white stripes, and the bunny had on the same exact shoes....hmmmm. So the bunny walked around the stage and pointed to the words "green day" on the drums then he went backstage.

A little while later green day came on! When I saw them for the first time my knees went weak and I could have fallen but then I would just miss a precious sight of them. I freaked out when I realized mike died his hair!!!! It looks awesome!! I loved it and it was a huge wonderful surprise.! Right away they started playing American Idiot. I was screaming at the top of my lungs yet I could barely here myself. I think it was after American idiot that Billie let us do the wave. That was fun. Throughout the entire show Billie would lead the crowd through "hey-oh" and about half way through he was doing the hey-oh thing and he lead it into moaning and stuck his hands down his pants. That was probably the best part...When he was done he let out this cute little giggle and kept playing.

Then they did their "create a band" thing and brought up 3 people to play their instruments. They were all pretty good and my dad thinks that the guitarist was a set up because he seemed so good but I would never think such a thing! The bass player did a stage dive and the guitarist kept the guitar...as always.

One of my favorite parts was when Billie introduced the band including Jason white and the other extra instruments. He "introduced" himself last as George Dub-a-yuh bush. Everyone booed him down! It was hilarious! Then he said "alright, alright...my name is asshole" and everyone cheered.

Throughout the whole show I was screaming the lyrics to every song, I hated the fact that a lot of people didn’t know the words to some of their older songs...it was disappointing. My friend and me called them "unworthy fans” but that's ok I know you mean well At the end the confetti shot out of the 2 opposite sides of the arena. It was friken everywhere! the red says "green day", and the white has the heart hand grenade...that was awesome! I love that confetti. Over all the concert was the best I will ever go to unless I see them again in august. I still can’t bring myself to believe it ever happened. It was just so unbelievable! You just have to go if you haven't yet!!!!!!!!!<3
