Question: What do you think of the idea of the American Idiot movie? If you were to choose the actors/actresses to play the roles of Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, and Whatsername, who would you want? (The following question is optional- Who do you think should direct the movie?) And how popular/successful do you think the movie would be?

I think that the idea of an American Idiot movie means well but would somehow get messed up.  Either, the script would suck, bad actors would be chosen, or something of that matter.  I personally think a book would be better.
The only way I think that it would be good would be if Billie Joe was St. Jimmy, Tre or Mike was Jesus of Suburbia and Adrienne was Whatsername.  Another thing they would have to do is have Tim Burton direct and have Green Day write out the script.  If they couldn't do that, they would need some other rock artists play the parts, like members of Good Charlotte and maybe Amy Lee from Evanesance (sorry if you guys hate those bands), but that wouldn't be as good as Greem Day playing the parts.
I think think that it would also be good if the movie was a cartoon.
If there was a movie, I believe that most of the Green Day fans would see it and make it rather successful but some fans might find it to be a disgrace.  But eventually, I think it would become a cult classic for Green Day fans.

I really think it'll be cool to have a movie based on the albums story! I loved the whole idea to the story even on the album so in movie will be really awesome! For Jesus of Suburbia / St. Jimmy - I'd have Billie Joe, Mike, or Tre play these characters (even they said they probably won't, I'd want them to!) I don't know for Whatsername though. Somebody not too famous or anything, but they would probably have to give her a real name. And I think Mike, Billie Joe, and Tre, should co-direct the whole movie. The movie will most likely be really successful with Green Day fans, I'll definitely go see it!

I think its a great idea for this movie to be made, because I love the cd (American Idiot) and the characters St. Jimmy, Whatsername, and Jesus of Suburbia.  I think that Green Day should be in the movie.  Its the story of American Idiot, and I think that they would be perfect for it.  They would know more how the personalities are for the characters.  And I think for any actresses for the movie they'll have to decide.

I think it is a GREAT idea. It's something new and different, unlike other movies coming out lately that pretty much have the same story lines with different names.  Even people who never heard of Green Day or the American idiot album would go to see it and it would soon be a favorite worldwide.
I know that Billie Joe wrote the script for it already and sent it in to a director, Joe Roecker I think? But I don't think the guys will have a major role which would be better than actors because they know just how everyone should be feeling in the movie. Billie as the JOS, Mike as Jimmy, and Tre as Whatsername, because we all know how much he likes dressing up in drag. But Adrienne would make a good substitution. And Jason and Freese and the rest of the backups should appear. But without them... I think that the St jimmy and Whatsername that appear in the BOBD video should play them in the movie. Jesus of Suburbia should be another  extra in BODB.

I like the idea of an American Idiot movie.  The only problem is I'm afraid 
more people would like Green Day just because of that snd not because of 
their music.  Many people have said that Billie Joe, Tre, and Mike should be 
in the movie but I disagree because it might be strange seeing them step 
outside their roles as musicians. As much as I'd love to see it, it would be 
awkward and I would rather them just stick to their rolls as an amazing 
band. I wouldn't want the movie to be too popular because it keeps the 
'poseurs' out of the way. And the people who love Green Day for their music 
might be able to enjoy the movie more. But if it is popular, that's great 
for the guys. :)

I think the idea of an American Idiot movie is just awesome.  It's such 
a good album, and the story behind it is really interesting in my 
opinion.  I don't think it'll be able to get made though, at least not 
made really really well.  American Idiot will always be a rock opera and will always be told the best in that form.  Often times what happens with movies is they add all this extra crap that really doesn't need to be there, or leave something out...but the idea is great. Lets see...the actors I would want to play...hm...I think Johnny Dep would be a cool St. Jimmy, in that Edward Scissorhands-esq look, like the hair, and the pale, vacant look. I don't know who would play J.O.S, but Watsername should be played by my ex-girlfriend. She seemed so great at the time, but once she was gone...it didn't really 
matter anymore, so hence whatsername. I can remember her face, but I 
can't recall the name.
