"Sweet Children" Part 2

You wake up the next morning to the sound of Billie, Mike and Tre's music. After

stretching for about 10 minutes, you go wash up, tie your hair into a rather messy ponytail, and

pull on a tank top, jeans and sneakers. As you head out the door you, notice your mom left your guitar in the living room, so you decide to bring it with you to show Billie Joe.

    Once you get over to the garage, you head in and notice nobody is in there.  You wonder where they were because you heard them a few minutes ago, but now they're missing. You walk further into the garage, wondering if they're just hiding to play a prank on you. As you look behind the beaten up sofa, you hear a *creak* behind you, so you turn around, and all you see before shutting your eyes was Billie, Mike and Tre laughing and holding water guns.  By the time you stop giggling and getting squirted with water, Billie Joe came over with a towel, but Tre grabbed it and whipped you with it. Billie got it back and wrapped it around you.

''Thanks Billie.'' you say while giving Tre an evil look (but in a happy way!). ''How did you guys know I was coming over?''

''Well...'' Billie started.  ''You should close your curtains.'' Mike finished, as Billie looked at Blue.

     You notice this and remembered you wanted to show Billie Joe your guitar. So you walk over to Billie and poke him in the head. When he looks up, he makes a face that implies that he thinks you're weird. You hold up your guitar.

''Cool!'' Billie says, ''Some day I'm going to get one of these.''

''I got it as a birthday present. And-Hey! What about Blue?''

''Oh, I'll always like Blue the best, but I'm talking about an acoustic guitar.'' he said awkwardly.

 ''So..you want to go to the Underground Cafe place?'' Mike suggests.

 ''Where's that?'' you ask.

''It's great.'' Billie says,  ''There's games, and next door is a great head-shop. We go there all the time, we play there too, mostly on weekends.''

''Oo sounds cool!'' you say happily.

''I'll say so.'' Tre says while winking at Billie and Mike.

    Then Billie goes over and wacks Tre in the head. ''If you ever have a problem wack Tre in the head.'' Mike said, and you still laugh while Tre picks up a helmet and puts it on his head.

''So are we going?'' you ask.

''Now?'' Billie wonders, ''Sure.''

    Once you get into the cafe you notice that it had dim lights, and most of the lighting came from the games and the stage. All the seats were couches with little coffee tables in front.

''Ok, let's get something to eat.'' Tre says as he runs to the snack machine, and after getting a stash of chips and candy he runs to the counter and presses his face up against the glass that was keeping him from the pastries.

''This is what he does all the time.'' Mike said.

''While he is doing that, I'll get some REAL food.'' Billie said as he heads towards the counter,

and you and Mike followed. ''I'll take a salad.'' Billie told the person at the counter ''Me too.'' said Mike.

''Wow! I never thought I'd see the day when the male species would order a salad.'' you say. ''I'll have a salad too, and a cookie...and a mocha.'' you add.

''I'm a vegetarian, but I never thought I'd see the day when a girl would order "so much." What about your girly "diet"?'' Billie asks.

''I don't have one, I'm not a person who worries about my body.''

''Thank you!'' Billie says under his breath.

    You, Billie and Mike go to meet Tre at a table, and Tre is stuffing his face and has icing on his nose, mouth and chin.

 ''Um...'' you start but just ended up giggling.

 ''She thinks you look like an ass Tre.'' said Billie while he poked Tre in the nose with his fork to scoop up some icing to eat it.

''Hey guys why don't you go up and play?'' you ask

''It's not our night to play. Plus we don't have our instruments.''

''Right...'' you reply, disappointed.

''Hey, you brought your guitar, why don't you go up and play something? I heard you singing last night and you sounded good.'' Billie says while you begin to blush.

''How did you hear me?'' you ask.

''Our windows are across from each other and our houses aren't far apart.''

    So you decide to go up after much persuasion. Once you are seated and have adjusted the mic and you ready your guitar, you know right away which song you're going to play; 'Desperado' by The 

Eagles (acoustic version) because that's what you're best at playing and not to brag, but you sing it well too.  Once you finish everyone claps and you feel great, Billie comes up and hugs you and Mike slaps you on the back.

 ''Tre was on the verge of tears!'' they say together, and Tre comes over kneels down and hugs your legs. After you shake Tre off, you go sit down again.

    After a few hours of hanging at the cafe, you decide to check out the head-shop next door. You see so many band tees that you want, but you could only buy one. So you bought a Ramones shirt.

''Good choice.'' said Billie as you begin to walk home.

    At one point Mike and Tre walk ahead because they have farther to go.

''You really did well tonight'' Billie said.

''We've only been friends for two days and you're already telling me I did good when I probably sucked.'' you say smiling.

''No, really, you should sing again sometime.''

''Maybe.'' 

     Once you get home, you take a long, old shower, then you mail your old friends, then go to bed.
